Oversampling

For institutions that would like to include additional faculty and/or staff, including Other Non-Exempt Staff in the survey process, there are three ways to do so:

  1. surveying a random sample of Other Non-Exempt Staff using the standard survey
  2. surveying additional Administrators, Faculty and Exempt Professional Staff using the standard survey
  3. conducting a customized, all inclusive, institution wide climate survey

Surveying Other Non-Exempt Staff

The oversampling of other staff is seamless, easy and cost effective and will be conducted in conjunction with the other survey process. We will use the following standardized “Other Staff” job roles: Administrative Professionals (Secretarial/Clerical), Skilled Crafts, Technical /Paraprofessional, Grounds Staff, Police / Security Guard, Housekeepers, Service Maintenance, Clerk, Motor Vehicle Operators, Food Service Workers & Other.

Costs will vary by the number of Other Staff involved as well as method of delivery (e.g., online, log-in sets, paper or combination).

Surveying Additonal Faculty, Administrators and Exempt Professional Staff

Some schools have requested the ability to survey additional Faculty, Administrators and Exempt Professional Staff as part of the process. For example, some four-year institutions would like feedback from their Adjuncts. Others are just interested in ensuring greater numbers of responses from certain groups (usually faculty) that may have had lower response rates in the past.

Reports Included with Oversampling Fee

Schools that oversample will receive the standard three Topline reports that will summarize results from the random sample that will be used for recognition purposes. Click here for examples of the three standard Topline Reports.

Schools that oversample will receive two additional Topline Reports that will summarize findings from the entire survey audience.

  1. A Topline Report by Job Category which will include your Other Non-Exempt Staff Results. Click here for a sample.
  2. A Topline Report that includes a column with benchmarking data from peer schools (assuming we have at least five within your specified group that have also sampled Other Non-Exempt Staff). If you do not have a set of designated peers, then the benchmark column will include averages from other schools that decided to oversample Other Non-Exempt Staff during the 2010 program. Click here for a sample.

In addition, schools that oversample will receive a 5% discount on any additional reports or services purchased, assuming the reports are ordered by April 16, 2010 and payment in full is received by July 30, 2010. The 2010 Reports and Services brochure is still being finalized, but the 2009 brochure provides a good reference.
